Jeremy Cowart began as a graphic designer, worked on creating a smartphone application, and has built non-profits with strong communities to support them, and he also happens to be a photographer. He first got involved in photography when "...I was a graphic designer beforehand and I studied design in school. I ran my own design company for a while and then when digital cameras came out I thought it would be cool to shoot textures and things to use in my design work". He started out with digital since it was what he needed for his design-centered work. Cowart first camera was a Canon G1. "At the time there weren't many options in the digital world. That was just about it. So a friend recommended it to me and my parents bought me my first camera in high school and it was a Canon so I had already trusted the Canon brand." Stephen Frink is a renowned underwater photographer. With more than thirty years of experience as a professional, shooting everything from sperm whales to Olympic swimmers. He is one of the most frequently published underwater photographers. He's a consummate professional who shoots for magazines, advertisements, and his own stock photo agency, Stephen Frink Collection. He also teaches master-level courses in underwater photography and leads dive travel expeditions all over the world. According to Frink shooting at or just below the surface can be a great way to begin shooting underwater. One type of underwater photograph that has become very popular is called an over-under or split shot. Frink has been shooting these types of images for years and explains how his technique has evolved. It is always important to note that photographing animals in the wild can be exceedingly difficult, but patience and, as Frink says, "projecting a benign presence" always gives you the best chance at getting the shot. Frink's favorite animals to photograph are sharks |
